Kinder, Louisiana
Hi! I’m blogging from my Blackberry tonight (not by choice), but I am happy to be getting a blog post out today. There is one thing that I can think of right now that makes time slip away….being inside a casino….we entered the casino at around 3pm today and couldn’t believe where the time went when it was 8pm and we were still in the casino. Glad I remembered to feed Jake before we left for the casino! Ha – we always leave food out for him anyways….
Let me back up a bit here. Last night we stayed over night at Hollywood casino in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi and tonight we are staying over night at Coushatta Casino in Kinder, Louisiana. The distance between these two casinos isn’t much – about 300 miles, and I don’t even think it’s that much, maybe a little less. So you might think we didn’t get that far or we didn’t travel long, but it wasn’t an easy day of traveling.
The coast here seems to be getting a rain storm that won’t let up. Heavy rain and slow speed leads to a long and expensive day. Expensive because accomodating the rain was heavy winds which took a bite out of our fuel mileage. So, I’m happy we only went as far as we did. And since we don’t have a set schedule at all, we will let the weather do its thing and we will just stay out of the way.
After this current rain storm moves on, I can see from the radar that there is another one moving in eastbound from Houston. Today’s temperature sat around 46 degrees all day and right now at 10pm I can still hear the rain on the roof of the RV.
But all is good here and we are very comfortable. (Hey, it could be all snow, so I won’t complain.) We have a casino in the parking lot next door to this RV park (of course! Ha!) and sure enough a little shuttle bus transports us back and forth to the casino. I love it! I think I’ve found my new job! I think I want to try driving the shuttle bus here and carting all the gamblers to and from the casino. Many benefits to that job….No traffic! I wouldn’t have to leave the property to go play in the streets! I can put a tip jar out for all those lucky people who hit a jackpot. Such a nice and easy job meeting all kinds of people, I’ll take either that job or the one that spins the little white balls in the Keno machine…..anyways….
So, we tried our luck at the casino here to no avail…we all lost a little bit of money and then stopped at the bakery inside the casino and I bought an apple danish to bring back to the RV so I could wallow in my loss of money with my danish. Jake wanted some, but I don’t think so little pal, supper time for you!
I watched a little bit of TV, listened to Obama and his big plans for our 30,000 troops, watched the radar weather channel, and here I am ready for bed.
Now, real quick, this casino is 23 miles north of I-10 off Exit 44 and there are plenty of billboard signs to lead the way, so yes, I would recommend this RV park and casino if you are passing thru….if you want more info on this place or have a question, email me at dpjake11002@aol.com.
It made my day today to see I have over 10 comments on my blog so far. Comments just absolutely make my day, so don’t be shy to leave one, two, or a few comments – or one a day!
I’m tired, so have a great night and I’ll be back tomorrow
