Swimming and Retirement

Hello. Everything is good here, but you aren’t going to like the beginning of this blog posting one bit. It’s probably going to be a short blog posting and to the point because I didn’t do much today, but what I did was soaked in the pool this afternoon in 74 degree weather. WAIT, before you go throwing snowballs my way….remember that I DID invite you down here with me. I did! :)
It was paradise today. The air temperature was 74 degrees and the pool water temperature was 82 degrees. Bluest skies I’ve ever seen and not one white speck anywhere in the sky. I swear retirement should be a crime, because this is too good to be true.
You know, I don’t want to rush my younger years away, but let me tell ya, when retirement knocks on my door someday, I’m not only going to open that darn door, I’m taking the whole door of the frame!
To me this is an extended vacation, to my parents this is retirement. What’s the difference? Ha! The difference is that I have a…….ugh…….j-o-b to go back to in the spring. I’m happy to go back to work, because I know (and see) what I’m working for. I do! I’m working to live the life I’m living now permanently later on. Sooo much to look forward to! :)
Anyways, Jake’s birthday was today and we celebrated with a walk around the park and I fed him his normal food for lunch but he didn’t keep it down, so the little baby is going to have to visit the vet tomorrow to see what’s going on with his system. The last few days he hasn’t been keeping his food down, but he’s been walking around and acting pretty normal. But, I’m taking no chances – tomorrow – to the doctors!
We didn’t go to the casino today, yeah, I know, I can’t believe it either, but I did splurge on scratch tickets today, see……
Gosh, last time I bought scratch tickets was at a gas station in Louisiana. Today, I won $3 dollars on all of those ($10 dollars worth). Oh well. I guess I could of won, but not today.
Well, that’s all I did today. Pretty quiet day. Hope you all are keeping warm. Take care, I’ll be back to bug ya tomorrow! :)

  • Happy Birthday Jake, hope you feel better!!
We used to breed dogs too – Bichons and Boxers. Bichon Frise is the Maltese cousin except he speaks French and a little more curly.
The weather sounds great, and I can’t wait to get your way. Tonight it is still 29 here in East TX but tomorrow we are moving west. Not sure where to yet… Hope to be in West TX by Tuesday.
Till then – have fun in the sun!
