Windy and Stayed Home
Hi! Wow, it was windy out today. Not as windy as the Northeast got, but a little on the windy side down here. Today I woke up a little early, not sure why, guess I slept great last night or maybe it had something to do with the time change. Anyways, Jake and I sat outside this morning and watched the squirrels bounce around on the grass. Usually Jake has a “squirrel fit” and wants to chase after them all, but this morning he just sat on his doggie hammock and watched them play on the grass. I did warn him “Don’t you move” and he didn’t.
For the past two days I’ve been leaving out peanuts around the big tree here on our site and the squirrels would come down and grab one and run back up the tree. Hey, it’s the simple life here and that’s what I did this morning.
I called my aunt and uncle up in Groveland and there’s a chocolate factory right down the road from them so we made plans to visit the factory on Tuesday. What else did I do today?? Let’s see….I downloaded more application programs to my Blackberry and Mom and I took Jake for a walk to Dunkin Donuts across the street. There’s a sign outside of Dunkin Donuts that said 99 cents for a medium iced tea, so I had to get one. We had a cookout today with hot dogs and hamburgers. I always like a cookout and remember that apple pie we bought at Perkins last night, yep, it’s all gone now. We finished up that pie while watching “Undercover Boss” tonight on TV. Other than that, we didn’t go anywhere, we didn’t do that much. Tomorrow is suppose to be a little windy too. We don’t have anything planned for tomorrow, but I hope to spend a lot of time outside watching the squirrels with Jake!
Have a good night and I’ll be back tomorrow!
Night Night!!
My One Year Anniversary With My Significant Other…..
Hello! Now don’t get me wrong….I love my puppy Jake and we’ve been together for 8 years and I’ll never get bored of him or trade him in or upgrade him. He’s perfect just the way he is. But when it comes to technology and today’s electronical gadgets, well, I can’t help crave the next Ebook Reader or a new phone, or a new netbook. These are all neat tech stuff that I want and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next new gadget. And when it comes to me hanging on to a computer device for over a year, well, I must call it a “miracle milestone”. Today is my one year anniversary with my Nextel Blackberry Curve. We’ve had our moments and it’s true, this thing (that I’m typing this blog post on now) almost went sailing a few times in the past and, remember, the time back in December when I was giving it CPR on the RV floor because I needed it to work like a bad addictive drug. Yeah, when they call it “Crackberry”, they really mean CRACKberry. This is my very first Blackberry and I can’t imagine going back to a normal plain simple looking cellular phone. Ugh
Today my Blackberry is working wonderful, but I’m telling ya, if they come out with a duel, or quad core in a blackberry, this thing is history. My blackberry has giving me all sorts of loving, including providing email on the go, website browsing anytime and anywhere, and application programs that make my life go as smooth as cruise control. The next device I’m looking at right now is the Verizon Mi-Fi 2200. Now this I need. This little credit card size Wi-Fi tower provides internet to up to five devices and can be use anywhere Verizon cell signal is available. It allows up to four hours of internet signal in battery life and service plans offer up to 5GB of internet browsing monthly. For those of you that want internet now, well, “now” is here.
So, enough babbling, let me tell you what I did today. I had a great day today and we did some cool stuff too. We took off and went to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City! It’s a neat strawberry themed county fair with live stock, games, rides, and big name concert headlines!! I paid $3.50 and got to make my own strawberry short cake! It was so good and everyone at the fair was super friendly!
We stayed for about an hour or so….why not longer…it was 84 degrees out today! So we left there and had to cool off somewhere so we drove another 15 miles and cooled off chilling at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa!! Yeah, it has been a while since we’ve been to a casino. I had a great time there, but wow, where did all these people come from. The place was packed!! Lines everywhere, people trying to get around each other, I was wondering if it was a holiday, but then I read in a local newspaper today that south west Florida was sitting at 13.4 percent unemployment rate and I found them all. Well, that was my day!! (And if you are doing the math for me – I lost $60 dollars today). Tonight for dinner we had a cookout here at the RV and now it’s sitcom hour and American Idol time!
Have a great night and I just heard the weatherman on TV say that it’s going to down pour for the next two days straight. I’ll be back tomorrow!
Saints and Ice Cream
Hi! Yep, you know I have to touch on football here. Amazing game today. I was for the Saints because I’m not a Manning fan (doesn’t matter which one). And, I don’t know why, but I didn’t place a bet on this game. I never got around to it. I’m sitting in the middle of the gambling capital and I don’t make a bet on the Super Bowl. Ha! I wanted to, but the Super Bowl snuck up on me, and before I knew it, I was watching it. Trust me, I kick myself now, but if I had placed a bet on the Saints, they probably would of lost! That’s just my luck!
So, I’m glad they won and I’m looking forward to a horse race coming up on April 3rd, if all parties show up. I’ll tell ya what I’m talking about if you click HERE. I’ll be keep an eye on this one.
Anyways, enough about sports! I’ve got some news for you! You will not be seeing any pictures in my blog postings for a few days because I’ll be posting from my Blackberry starting tomorrow! Yes, that’s right. We are leaving Las Vegas tomorrow. I guess we are all “Vegas-ed” out (I never knew that was possible) and there are other adventures and more casinos down the road to see. We are leaving tomorrow morning and heading back to Yuma, Arizona for the night (I’m hoping to go to Paradise Casino for Monday night Bingo!). I hope my Bingo partner in Yuma is reading this…..I’m on my way!!!
Tonight we went to Circus Circus Casino and I lost $40 dollars, and then we hopped across the street to the Riviera Casino and I won $167 dollars. So, it was a good day today! I finished my night with this (took it with my Blackberry)…….
OH, I just saw now on the news that the new Hoover Dam bridge is set to open in November! Wow, neat. 1,900 feet across the Colorado River. So, if you are looking forward to seeing this bridge in action, then November will be your month!
So, bare with me for the next few days. I will blog from my Blackberry telling all the news, but no pictures. And, I like to yap, so don’t forget to check on me. Have a great night. I’ll be back tomorrow!
OH, and don’t forget to leave me a comment, I can approve comments right on the spot from my Blackberry!
Exploring Las Vegas
Hi! Wow, what a great night we had last night. We explored a few casinos on the Las Vegas Boulevard. We went to Paris Casino and Planet Hollywood Casino and a few other little ones in between. I must of been feeling lucky because I put a $5 dollar bill in a $5 dollar slot machine (yep, just one shot) and it came out Triple Symbol, Bar, Bar on the three reel display and printed out a ticket for an even $300 dollars! Just like that. Couldn’t believe it! I don’t know what I was thinking! Ohhhh, yes, I knew exactly what I was thinking and I’ll share my secret with you……In my opinion and experience at Las Vegas…..Las Vegas does not pay out much on weekends at all. I’ve never, ever won more than $100 dollars on the weekend here, not just this trip, but all of my trips here. BUT, Las Vegas pays out during the week, and boy, does it pay out…..take a look at what my Dad did last night at the Planet Hollywood Casino!
Yep, that says there is $66 dollars in the slot machine that was left when he hit $1015 dollars!!!
Yep, it’s the lower amount progressive jackpot! I sure would of like to see that purple symbol show up on the last reel for the bigger progressive jackpot, but hey, he was sure happy!
I think he was a little unsure if he had won anything, until I glanced at it and say, “Yep, it looks like you are a winner!”
You know, now that I think about it, that slot machine didn’t even make a sound, no ringing, no binging, no nothing. I just lite up and said, “Jackpot” on the screen above, but not one sound. The supervisor had to come by and verify the winning amount thru the slot machine and handed the cash to Dad. He gave Mom and I a little bit of it, woo-hoo, and we walked around the casino a little bit more looking for more slot machines that might be willing to pay out. My dad saw a $5 dollar slot machine that seemed to be calling his name and he put some money in it and hit the button to spin the wheel and a yellow 7 showed up on each of the three reels!!! A payout of $500 dollars.
So, your lesson for today is that Las Vegas may look fascinating and hopping on the weekends, but save your gambling dollar for Monday!
Here’s some pictures of the Las Vegas Boulevard and of Paris Casino and Bellagio Casino……
They aren’t the best pictures, I think my camera is acting up again. This camera is one year old, but it has taken alot of pictures in one year. Actually I can check how many total pictures I’ve take with this camera….hang on….I’ve taken a total of 9573 pictures in one year. I’m one of those people who take two or three pictures of the same object and then download them sifting thru which picture is better than the others.
So between my Blackberry and my camera, I’m really not sure which one will outlast the other. Ha!
I would like to take pictures around the inside of the casinos, but I don’t want to get kicked out…….The pictures I do take inside of the casinos, I try to sneak it in quickly…..I’ll see what I can do….
Well, that’s it for today. I’ll bring my camera with me tonight in case we win a million!
Have a good night. I’ll be back tomorrow.
Flooding in Las Vegas
Hi!
Well, the rain is still here and hasn’t let up at all. Flooded areas all over the place. Flooded parking lots and water running in streams down the road. But everything is under control. I haven’t seen any accidents due to the weather which is good.
What did we do last night? We took the pick up truck and visited Palace Station Casino. You can see the Palace Station Casino from where we are staying, but it is across the highway, so you have to take a vehicle out of this parking lot on the main road, over the bridge which goes over the highway and then take a left like you are entering the highway, but instead of bearing left to merge on the highway, just stay on the access road and the casino is right there. The diesel didn’t even have time to warm up!
I like the Station Casinos! There’s are alot of them off the strip. You won’t find a Station Casino on the Las Vegas strip. There’s the Palace Station, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, Boulder Station, and many more. They are spread out all around the outside area of the Las Vegas strip. You can’t walk to any of them, you have to drive. So last night at the Palace Casino, I bought my live Keno tickets. OH, the best thing about the Palace Casino is that they have 10 cent Keno!!!!!
So I bought 50 games for 5 bucks! To go through 50 games, it takes 5 hours and we didn’t stay there for 5 hours, so next week I’ll have to go back to find out if I won, or maybe I’ll call and find out. The top prize is $10,000. I could be a winner!
So we stuck around the Palace Casino for about 3 hours and I play the Quick Pics slot machines. I should sneak a picture of the Quick Pics slot machines for you because I must say that it is my favorite slot machine. So, anyways, I hit the bonus feature of the Quick Pic slot machine and I won 20 free spins! I love free spins!
So the reels took off by themselves and start spinning. The first seven or eight spins turned out about 5 dollars each and then by the 15th spin it started cranking out the cash and by the time the bonus feature was done, the slot machine payout display showed $559.00. Whoa! Not bad! Not enough to buy an exotic car, but I’m just warming up. I see a big jackpot in my future!
So that was my night. We came back to the RV and watched TV for the rest of the night. I know if it wasn’t raining out, we would of walked around at night and enjoyed the Las Vegas neon lights, but the weather discouraged that idea.
But that’s what you do in Las Vegas, you stay up late and sleep all morning because, basically, nothing really happens in the morning, unless you live in THIS RV. This morning around 8:30am someone knocked on our camper door and Jake woke up and took off like a missile off my bed and started barking at the door. What a super dog!! To tell us someone is at the door. Good dog! It’s some guy that tells us that he owns a Montana “over there” and his TV isn’t working and he was wondering how to get his TV to work. NO, we did not open the door, Dad spoke to him through the screen next to the door telling him to buy a “box” and try scanning the channels again. I guess the guy was okay with that answer because he said “ok, thank you” and walked across the parking lot. Strange huh? Maybe he was an honest guy, maybe he wasn’t, but don’t be knocking on doors at 8 in the morning in Las Vegas, I guarantee you no one is up. Weird situation huh? What do you think about that one?
Anyways, we were awoken at 8:30am, so we stayed up, and this morning it was still raining and we headed down to the Caesars Palace Casino down on the Las Vegas strip with the help of our bus pass. I got half way there and realized, dummy me, I forget my camera. Grrrrr…. So I managed to get a few snap shots with my Blackberry. YEAH, exactly – forgot the camera, but can’t walk or breath without the Blackberry!
Sorry
So, I know it’s not the best picture quality but it’s something……
We walked through Margaritaville to the Flamingo Casino (love Margaritaville) and just did some casino hopping…….
This is a picture of a statue inside Caesar’s Palace…..ugh, poor pic quality. I’m sure we will go back there and I’ll bring my camera next time….promise!
Inside Caesar’s Palace. It’s huge inside……there’s many shops and a huge casino inside. I didn’t win any money in this place today…….
We ate at Planet Hollywood inside Caesar’s Palace……
Hello Rocky!
And the Terminator has it’s own drink! In case you can’t read this, it’s a strange concoction, it says: A cyborg’s mixture of Rain vodka, Don Q Cristal, gin, triple sec, Kahlua, and sweet & sour splashed with cranberry juice then topped off withHmmmmm….thanks, but I’ll pass……. draught beer. This one will leave you saying “I’ll be back!”. I’m not too sure about this drink. I’m sure it’s good, but all that alcohol, juice, and beer mixed together.
So, that’s what we did today! Super fun day despite the weather. This afternoon (it’s 4pm now) we are relaxing in the RV. Jake is doing good, just fed him and I can see that he’s sleeping right now. The weather channel is on TV with predictable news about the wet weather.
I wanted to mention to you that when I started this blog, my purpose behind this blog is to tell you an entertaining story, well, half way entertaining story for you to follow me around this great big country, but the opposite has happened. Recent comments that have come in to this blog has entertained me. When someone leaves a comment to my blog, it pings my email account on my Blackberry instantly and I read it and approve it or deny it. A few times recently, I’d be plopping my money into a slot machine and dying laughing at your comments. You guys crack me up!
And I just wanted to mention that to you!
A comment came in yesterday wanting to know about my current situation about my bicycle accident injuries, how it was healing up and all. After 10 days, my face has healed up nicely, you can’t see any marks at all. My left knee still has a bruise about the size of a half dollar coin still healing. Yeah, a bruise still healing after 10 days, wow. The black and blue has turned to a dark red. And both the palms on my hands have a long way to go to heal completely. There are still several skin layers missing that still needs to naturally repair themselves. But! But, nothing hurts anymore, so I’m a happy girl!
Thanks for asking!
I’m not sure what we are doing tonight but I’m sure we are going to venture out somewhere. I’ll bring my camera, because when we leave the RV, there’s no telling where we might end up and what we might see!
Have a great night and I’ll be back tomorrow!
Shopping and Red Lobster Restaurant
Hi! Today was a pretty low key day. We really didn’t do too much today. I’m still a little sore around my knee and my wrist hurts a bit when I bend it a little, but the good news is that the swollen and bruises in other spots are disappearing slowly, like on my face. Ugh. It still hurts when I blink my right eye. Yeah, I’m still a mess. But, I went out in public today! Hey, I keep thinking, at least I didn’t break a bone. I’ve never broken a bone and don’t want to start at my age (nooo, I’m not telling you how old I am…..ha!). So where was I….
Oh, what we did today! Today was a minor shopping day. We went to the mall area and went to Kohl’s. I like Kohl’s, they have a lot of cute stuff there. After shopping, we ate a late lunch at Red Lobster. The last time we went to Red Lobster was in McAllen Texas last year the day I bought my Blackberry in March. I have a great memory!
The Red Lobster is becoming an annual ritual for us. The lobster pizza is to die for! I mean it….Go try it……Wait, bring me with you!
After shopping and lunch, we came back to the RV and relaxed and watch TV for the rest of the evening. I could of went to Card Bingo here at the RV park but wasn’t really up for it. So, I watch American Idol tonight. Yeah, can you believe it, no casino today at all. I didn’t even buy a scratch ticket
I heard on the news tonight we are suppose to have high winds tomorrow – up to 35 mph. Hmmmmm, not sure what we are doing tomorrow.
Jake is doing super too. I brought him out for two walks today. He loves his new food and takes him medicine twice everyday when I can remember to give it to him.
Other than that – I recently discovered how I’m going to go broke. I found a neat website last night – hang on….the website isss….http://www.bplay.com and it’s all kinds of wallpaper themes, ring tones, and games for my Blackberry, it’s a mega-store for Blackberries! A little on the pricey side but I think I’ll splurge on a ring tone or two or three for my Blackberry. Never heard of that website until last night looking for new games for my phone. I must of stayed on that website for at least an hour.
Pretty quiet night. Hope you are having a good week and I do see the weekend on the horizon!
Have a good night.
Yuma Fun Factory
Hi! Today we ventured out. We went down to Airwave Communications (Sprint Authorized Retailer) to buy a new plastic case that snaps around my Blackberry. Got to take care of my baby now that it’s working again. I had a case for it, but it wasn’t the greatest and made out of a rubber material. So now we are going with plastic. I bought a black case and ordered a another one of another color to switch them out when I feel like changing the color of my Blackberry. Ha! I have so much stress in my life – Hmmmm, what Blackberry color case should I use today – black or some other colorful hue……decisions, decisions…..
Okay, what else did we do today – I’ve got pictures!!!!!! We ventured over to the Yuma Fun Factory. This is right off the highway here (I-8), like 5 or 6 miles from us. Always saw it from the highway, always wondered what the heck is was all about. Today we stop……
Outside they have mini golf, go cart track, and bumper boats…..
Part of the mini golf course….
Let’s take a look inside. We ate lunch here today. The food is okay. As you can see this is a glamorous Chuck E Cheese. If you have kids, you can’t ask for a better place. They have a deal every Monday – Unlimited go carts, unlimited mini golf, and unlimited bumper boats for there hours, and $10 of arcades all for $19.99 per person.
They have a restaurant and full bar – more like a sports bar with TVs everywhere…..
Let’s take a look at the arcade section……
Well, that’s what we did so far today. And tonight, you know what tonight is……I’ll give ya a hint….Monday night…..Monday night Bingo at the Paradise Casino!!! I’m feeling lucky too! I’m going to go in there and dab all my little boxes on my paper and shout “BINGO!” and I can feel that money in my hands already! Well…..that’s my plan at least!
Well, that’s all for today….have a great night!
