Milton, Florida

Hi! I am writing this blog posting on my Blackberry in our friend’s van as we all travel back to Milton, Florida from the Wind Creek Casino in Atmore, Alabama.
I won’t have any internet service to do a post on my laptop for a few days as we travel around Florida. But have no fear, you get to hear me yap from my Blackberry! :)
Today we got to Milton, Florida at around 1pm. Not a bad ride over here from Mississippi, but it was cold out, don’t think it got over 40 degrees today….
We set the RV up in the driveway and it didn’t take us long to decide to hit a casino tonight (there’s five of us). Wind Creek Casino is easy to get to and is exactly an hour away from Milton. It’s a nice casino and yes, I did see many RVs dry camping in the parking lot, so come on over! :) I made out with a $60 dollar profit and we enjoyed the buffet there for 11.99. We are on our way back home now. All in all, everything is pretty darn good! :)
I took some pictures, but you’ll have to wait a few days to see them. So, I’m just checking in telling you it’s been a simple day of traveling and we are with great company. Oh, and if you are wondering about Jake….I’ve never seen a little dog more healthy and happy in my life! :) Have a good night! :)

Simple Day in Mississippi

Hi! Everything is good here. I think this is going to be a short and simple midnight post because everything is quiet here today. Some house cleaning and laundry was done today, a walk over to the casino here, and we enjoyed the delicious buffet. Oh, and, of course, Jake wanted to watch the Westminster Dog Show tonight so we cuddled and watched it together! :) Jake had a little bit of a reaction when he saw the Sheep dog, but I think he was trying to ask me, “How can he see?” Hey, pet owners have a great imagination!! :)
Other than that, I didn’t win a whole lot of money at the casino tonight, probably came out ahead with $40 dollars, not bad. The WiFi service at this park isn’t the best so I wasn’t going to fight with it for another night like I did last night.
Oh, let me tell you…..you can definitely feel the energy here from the football fans! Yep, people are wearing Saints jerseys and t-shirts and they are in the mood to talk football! They are all happy Louisiana is recognized for something good for once and they deserve it. The most watched Super Bowl went down how it was suppose to and it casted a whole new light on everyone’s face here.
So, tomorrow we are leaving and heading closer to Florida. We are going to drag our feet thru Florida and enjoy many sections of it. Noooo, I’m not telling you everywhere we are going…..I don’t even know myself! :)
So, I’ll leave you for another 24 hours with that and have a great night! :)

Traveling Day

Hello! Well, today was mainly a traveling day. Leaving Tombstone this morning at around 9am we made it to El Paso around 4pm. Didn’t really see anything exciting on I-10, just a lot of freight being moved along by the truck drivers and the trains. We stopped along the way to put $200 dollars in the tank (we have an external fuel tank in the bed that feeds the main fuel tank below the truck). And diesel price isn’t too bad out here sitting at around $2.69 a gallon.
This is mostly going to be a short posting, because there’s not much going on. We got 15 channels on TV here from the antenna and just finished up a movie. We are dry camping tonight. I’m not a big fan of dry-camping, but I can’t complain because the temperature is very nice outside (t-shirt weather). We sure won’t freeze tonight, but it’s noisy outside with the running engine of tractor trailer next to us. Oh, well, take the good with the bad when we are making our way to our next destination.
I wish I had more news to tell you, but sometime no news is good news. We will see where we end up tomorrow. Have a good night! :)

Saints and Ice Cream

Hi! Yep, you know I have to touch on football here. Amazing game today. I was for the Saints because I’m not a Manning fan (doesn’t matter which one).  And, I don’t know why, but I didn’t place a bet on this game. I never got around to it. I’m sitting in the middle of the gambling capital and I don’t make a bet on the Super Bowl. Ha! I wanted to, but the Super Bowl snuck up on me, and before I knew it, I was watching it. Trust me, I kick myself now, but if I had placed a bet on the Saints, they probably would of lost! That’s just my luck! :) So, I’m glad they won and I’m looking forward to a horse race coming up on April 3rd, if all parties show up. I’ll tell ya what I’m talking about if you click HERE. I’ll be keep an eye on this one.
Anyways, enough about sports! I’ve got some news for you! You will not be seeing any pictures in my blog postings for a few days because I’ll be posting from my Blackberry starting tomorrow! Yes, that’s right. We are leaving Las Vegas tomorrow. I guess we are all “Vegas-ed” out (I never knew that was possible) and there are other adventures and more casinos down the road to see. We are leaving tomorrow morning and heading back to Yuma, Arizona for the night (I’m hoping to go to Paradise Casino for Monday night Bingo!). I hope my Bingo partner in Yuma is reading this…..I’m on my way!!! :)
Tonight we went to Circus Circus  Casino and I lost $40 dollars, and then we hopped across the street to the Riviera Casino and I won $167 dollars. So, it was a good day today! I finished my night with this (took it with my Blackberry)…….
OH, I just saw now on the news that the new Hoover Dam bridge is set to open in November! Wow, neat. 1,900 feet across the Colorado River. So, if you are looking forward to seeing this bridge in action, then November will be your month! :)
So, bare with me for the next few days. I will blog from my Blackberry telling all the news, but no pictures. And, I like to yap, so don’t forget to check on me. Have a great night. I’ll be back tomorrow! :) OH, and don’t forget to leave me a comment, I can approve comments right on the spot from my Blackberry! :)

Movie and Saturday Night in Vegas

Today we stayed home most of the day. I slept in late today….so nice to sleep in late (everyday!) :) Anyways, I’ve recently found a website that you can watch up to date movies that are even currently playing in the theater. Some of my friends have told me about this in the past, watching currently movies online. I can see by doing a Google search there are a lot of website that offer this. So I tried it out and watch the full length movie “Leap Year”. Pretty good movie, but soooo predictable….I’ll have to rate the movie C-, cheesy and blah ending. So I’m not sure what movie I’ll watch next – I’m thinking….”Up In The Air” or “The Blind Side”.
So around 6pm tonight we went out on the town and ventured to Planet Hollywood, Paris Casino, Bally’s Casino, and Riviera Casino. I didn’t win any money tonight, and I have never seen so many people in Vegas than this weekend (OH, second to last year’s New Year’s Eve party I witnessed). Vegas is packed solid in the casinos now and every TV is on the sports channel putting people in the mood for Super Bowl Sunday! I got just a few pictures for ya…..
It rained all day today but stopped tonight. It’s very warm out. I had on a t-shirt and light jacket. Very nice temperature for walking around outside, just avoid the puddles! Other than that, I watched the Daytona Budweiser Shootout today and I was so happy to see Kasey Kahne finish in second place! And I’m ready for football tomorrow! Check in with me tomorrow! Have a good night and enjoy your weekend! :)

Casino Hopping

Hi! Don’t have too much to say, but I’ve got a ton of pictures. Hope you like pictures because I’ve been going crazy with the camera lately! And I’ve been getting a little bit bolder with taking pictures inside the casinos. I haven’t been “spoken to” yet! Ha! Okay, so last night we went to the Las Vegas Hilton Casino. This casino is not on the Las Vegas Boulevard, but is set back one block east of the Boulevard. You can walk there during the day, I’d be “iffy” walking to that casino at night. So we took the Dodge there…..
The Las Vegas Hilton Casino is “Star Wars” themed! It has always been “Star Wars” themed. I stayed here on my very first visit to Las Vegas back in…..gosh, back in…..well, let’s see here, I was 21 years old when I first visited Vegas, so that was…..HEY, that would give my age away! Forgot it! :) LOL! You almost got me there….LOL!
You enter thru this door to go to the other side of the casino area……
Neat slot machines……
So those pictures were inside the Las Vegas Casino. Very nice.
Today we walked from Circus Circus Casino to Sahara Casino and then to the Stratosphere Casino…..it was a long walk but in nice weather, so nice to enjoy the outdoors…..
It seems like Las Vegas is always under construction…..
There’s the Stratosphere Casino…..
There’s the Sahara Casino…….
There’s both casinos…….as you can see we have quite a walk……
Okay, we are back to the RV park. If you want to call this an RV park. No one is really here and this RV park is never over half full. As you can see there is a lot of open spots here.
On this side of the park. Picture above was to my right, picture below is to my left. This is the section of the RV park for monthly tenants. The empty section to my right is for daily tenants. Of course a big price difference. Can you see our RV??
There, I got a little closer to our RV. We kind of spread out a little bit! :)
Well, other than that, I met some online friends at the Beer and Blog meet up we had tonight. It was nice to talk to others in the area that are always online and talking tech stuff. These group of people get together once a week to talk about blogging, tech gadgets, and beer! They are pretty cool and I did have a great time. They eagerly accepted me into their group once I told them I’m an online social networking addict too! Ha!
Well, I hope you had a great week. It’s Friday!!!! And Superbowl weekend! It should be very busy here in Vegas for the Superbowl and I’ll bring my camera with me to catch some good shots for ya! Have a good night. I’ll be back tomorrow! :)

Running around Las Vegas

Hi! I think this is going to be a picture blog posting and I’ll show you all that  I have seen today! :)
Outside Harrah’s Casino….
Next to Harrah’s is Flamingo Casino!
Next door is Paris Casino……
Across the street is the Bellagio Casino! Very nice…..
This is on the wall before you enter into Planet Hollywood Casino….
Inside Planet Hollywood Casino, we stopped for lunch here…..(very good food!) I love this place…..
Inside of P.F. Chang’s…….
After lunch, we are outside of Planet Hollywood Casino…….
Harley Davidson Cafe – no casino, just a restaurant….
Okay, we are done walking and now we hopped the bus going northbound and I am sitting on the top deck of the bus in the very first seat. Got great pictures this way……Just showing you what I see……
We are just stopping at another bus stop to pick up more people. This is a picture of the Venetian Casino…….
The Encore Casino……
So, that’s what we did today! :) It’s such nice weather here during the day. Tonight I think we might go to the Hilton Casino. We haven’t been there yet and it’s themed “Star Wars”. I’ll bring my camera! :)
Tomorrow night I have a get together with some blogging friends here in town. I met them last year at the two day WordCamp conference here and it’s nice to be back to see them all again. Here’s the website: http://lasvegas.beerandblog.com/. Ha! Beer and blog. I love it! Can’t wait to say Hi to everyone again! No beer for me, but I’ll definitely splurge on a Margarita! And talk about Blogging?? Yeah, I’m soooo there! :)
I hope everyone has a great week. I’ll be back tomorrow! :)

M&M World

Hi! Yesterday before the movies we had plenty of time to explore the local area on South Las Vegas Boulevard before the movie started so we visited M&M World! This place is too cool! It’s 4 floors and M&M stuff everywhere. If you love M&Ms, you will be in heaven here….
This is my kind of slot machine!
I’m trying to remember, but I think this is a bank. When you put money in, pull the arm, and out comes M&Ms! Isn’t that a cool way to save money. Don’t worry about saving too much, all the money that you save you’ll have to re-invest into more M&Ms to motivate you to save more money. Hmmmm, a vicious circle…..hmmm, maybe it’s not a bank….not sure, anyways, moving on…..
My kind of t-shirt…..
I’m looking for Kyle……
Kyle has to be around here somewhere…..
Okay, those previous pictures were yesterday. Today we mosey on up to Fremont Street and looked around, tried my luck, and lost $40 bucks……
OH, see that canvas on top of the street. That’s what they play those hourly nightly shows on that I was yapping about before…..
So, that’s what we did today! It’s a tad cold out tonight, so I don’t think we are going too far tonight. I’ve been checking out some information on magic shows around the area. There aren’t too bad in cost. Unless you want to see David Copperfield, you can get a decent magic show seat for 30 bucks. We just might hit a few and I’ll let you know how they are. Have a great week!

Jake’s Slot Machine

Hi! I’m so excited about this blog posting and I’ll explain the title in a minute, but I wanted to tell you what we did last night first. Wow, was it busy on the Las Vegas Boulevard last night. We took the bus down to Treasure Island Casino (not far, two casinos south of us, but was still far enough to take the bus)…….
Inside Treasure Island Casino, they have always been motorcycle/chrome themed! Take a peek……
So if you want to win a bike, go to Treasure Island. Next door to Treasure Island is the Mirage Casino, home to the infamous erupting of the volcano right outside. Very neat. I didn’t see the volcano go while we were there…..I think it’s every hour or every half hour or so.
They are beautiful waterfalls outside the Mirage Casino too!
Okay, next up, the Wynn Casino. Steve Wynn built two towers, the first tower called Wynn opened in April 2005 and his Encore tower opened last winter (we went to the opening of Encore last winter). I’ve never seen this huge Tiger before……
Okay, this is where I’m going to get a little hyper on ya! I have a little dog. He’s a pure breed Maltese, he turned 8 years old on Jan 10th (he’s a Capricorn) and he weighs 8 pounds. I’ve had him since he was 12 weeks old. He’s my little buddy, so this is what he looks like……this is not a picture of last month or last week, I came home last night and took this picture before uploading the pictures on the laptop last night…….
Ha! You can tell I’m holding a treat above the camera by the look in his eyes!
Anyways, the reason why I’m showing you a picture of Jake is because when I was at the Wynn Casino (and I’ve never ever seen this slot machine in any other casino at all), this is what I stumbled upon………
I don’t care if they kicked me out of that casino, I was determined to get a picture of this slot machine. Isn’t that too cool!! Jake’s got his own slot machine. Well, as much money as I put into all the slot machines, he should have his own slot machine! Ha! You should of saw me when I found it, I was like a little kid all excited! No, the slot machine didn’t pay out a dime to me, but that’s okay, because I’ll be going back to that slot machine to dump some more money in it so see if I can hit the Jackpot. Oh, wait, I already hit the Jackpot……I’ve got my own Maltese Fortune right here sleeping right next to meeeeee! :)
Have a great day and I’m not sure what we are doing tonight, but since the Miss America pageant is over (congrats to Miss Virginia), everyone should be leave Las Vegas today.

Fremont Street – Friday Night

Hi! What a great night we had on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. It was hopping and I didn’t win anything news breaking, but at the end of the night I profited $120, hey, I can’t complain, especially on a weekend. But, I got some cool pictures for you on Fremont Street! Take a peek…..
Just 5 nickels can win you this!! I almost won, but the reels were a little off and just weren’t lining up the symbols for me to win the Corvette. Darn! :) But, just let me believe I almost won!!! :)
The Fremont Street casinos shut down all their neon lights for an hourly show up on the Fremont Street electrical canvas above, called the “Fremont Street Experience”, so cool. A different theme show every hour. Here’s some pictures of it, this is on an electrical canvas right above your head!
This one is alien themed – that’s my favorite show! So very cool…..it’s like the aliens are looking down on us…..so, so cool!!! :)
Oh, want to see how I ended my night!! Yummy!!! I don’t drink much. A margarita a month, but I had to have my one Las Vegas mixed drink! This drink (keep the plastic container, I use it for my loose change now), anyways, this drink cost me $13 dollars and it was considered a “small”, I think the medium was $17 and the large was $21. This drink is a little on the weak side, they offered everyone that buys a drink more vodka for an additional $2 dollars! I declined, the $13 dollars was enough for me to spend on a drink that actually, I have to say, tasted pretty darn good as it is. And no, don’t tell me the calories, I don’t want to know – LOL!
Well, that’s our night! Oh, I bought some Keno tickets and won $21 dollars on Keno! And now it’s Saturday and let’s see how wild we can get tonight! Hey, it’s the thought that counts! :) I’ll stay with my Pepsi and Grenadine tonight. Yummy! Love Cherry Coke. Have a great weekend!
